My name is Rob Lanier. From a young age, I've always had a fascination with woodworking. In Junior High, I got a taste of it in Shop Class, but with life and such, the passion got buried. After 6 years in the Marine Corps, I left needing something to do with my spare time, and after telling my wife about my childhood love, she gifted me with a lathe of my own. It took hours of YouTube videos, and lots of practice, and I felt I was ready to expand my knowledge. We planned a trip up to the mountains, and I spent a week learning how to turn Natural Edge Bowls from a fantastic teacher, Charles Farrar, at John C. Campbell Folk School. It was an incredible experience, and I can't wait to schedule time to take another class. As I've only just really begun this new adventure, I have so much more to learn, and look forward to doing so.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me. Feel free to ask any questions regarding any turning tips I may be able to pass along. And if you're just starting out, this is a wonderful experience to embark on.
